PROGRAM DETAILS

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Online
Being mindful is the practice of being present.  Although it may sound simple to be aware and present in our lives, too often we find ourselves existing on autopilot, cut-off from our actual experience, running from stress, or just getting through each day.

The practice of mindfulness invites us to exist on an entirely different level with ourselves.  It invites us to wake up and embrace what is happening right now, in this moment.  This present moment awareness can provide us with greater ease, peace and joy, and sometimes it asks us to face what is difficult.  Either way, it is pointing us to a true and genuine experience of our precious, fleeting life.

MBSR is an evidence-based, intensive exploration of the practice of mindfulness and what it means to bring that level of awareness into your everyday existence.  This online MBSR course provides all the instruction and materials you need to learn and practice mindfulness weekly in a group setting, and daily on your own.  You will be asked to bring a strong commitment to the course and to engage daily with the practices so you can receive the full benefit of the program.

People take MBSR for many reasons—to relieve stress of all kinds, to untangle and soothe emotional and physical pain, to live and love more fully, to establish a regular meditation practice, and many more reasons that you will discover in this shared experience.

Course Details
We will practice mindfulness meditation in several ways (sitting, moving, walking, body scan, interpersonal) in class, sometimes in silence and in small and large group interactive exercises.  Ample time will be given for asking questions and interacting with the information provided.  Audio and video practices will be provided to help guide your home practice.

We will be using the Zoom ™ video conference platform.  The software can be downloaded free of charge and guidance will be given to help with the connection process.  Please commit to attending all classes, but if you must miss one class a recording will be offered.  To obtain continuing education credits all classes, including the retreat, must be attended due to credentialing requirements for live online classes.
